KATIA NÁJERA VIALE

Born and raised in Tijuana, Baja California, Katia Najera is a Los Angeles–based Art Director and Senior Set Designer who helps bring ambitious cinematic worlds to life. A member of IATSE Local 800, she combines a storyteller’s eye with the technical precision and hands-on craft to move sets from concept to camera.

Currently serving as an Art Director on the directing duo Daniels’ upcoming untitled feature, Katia’s work spans studio films, acclaimed television, and independent productions. On Jon Watts’s Wolfs, she developed the built environments for the Brooklyn Bridge chase sequence. On The Accountant 2, she contributed both art direction and set design, including the film’s hero Airstream. Her credits also include Our Flag Means Death, For All Mankind, and David Fincher’s The Adventures of Cliff Booth.

Katia holds an MFA in Production Design from the American Film Institute and a B.S. in Television, Film, and New Media from San Diego State University, where she supervised the scene shop and soundstage. She served as Production Designer on the AFI thesis film Tree #3, which earned a 2019 Student Academy Award, Bronze in Narrative, and a Best Comedy nomination at the 39th College Television Awards.

Between union projects, Katia continues to expand her production design portfolio through non-union films and creative collaborations, bringing her own visual voice to new stories.

When she’s not dreaming up worlds on set, you can find her front row at a concert, treasure-hunting at the Rose Bowl Flea Market, or turning “just browsing” into a full-blown prop scouting mission.
